Think about your biggest dream for a moment. Does it seem a little bit crazy? Maybe a bit too bold and audacious?
That’s good. Now, take that dream and multiply it by 10.
If your dream is to build a million-dollar business, base your plans on building a $10 million business.
If your dream is to write a book, put “write two New York Times bestselling books” on your dream board.
If you want to build an app, supercharge that dream to “I will build the fastest-growing app in the tech industry.”
You may scoff at these assertions. It seems so absurd to swing for the fences and set the bar so high.
Or you may feel like you’re setting yourself up for failure. You may be thinking, “There’s no way that I could write two NYT bestselling books. I’ve been struggling to even write the first chapter of my first book.”
So, why should you even bother to step up your dream? Why is dreaming big so important?
It’s quite simple, actually. You are great, and we need more great women to disrupt the world.
Playing small doesn’t help anyone. You’re not even helping yourself by playing small. When you set the bar low, it’s hard to stay motivated and inspired. When the why isn’t big enough, the how seems tedious.
You want your why to compel you to take action. Your why should make you grow and stretch into the biggest, boldest, most badass you. That way, even if things don’t work out as planned, you become a better person in the process.
Stop playing small. The world needs your greatness.
